Alkestie Skarlatou

Lightinspace is headed by Alkestie Skarlatou who has twenty years of experience in the architectural and lighting design practice. Alkestie has initially trained and practiced as an architect. Completing a masters degree (MSc Light and Lighting) at The Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL and a PhD thesis she has combined theory with practice by working with some of the most prestigious lighting practices in London. She has been involved in various projects worldwide including Switzerland, Bahrain, United Kingdom, Greece, Cyprus, India, Russia, Spain, Belgium & Mauritius. Collaborating with large and reputable architectural firms, she has collected awards as part of these teams.
Alkestie is also lecturer in the Light & Lighting Masters course, in the renowned Bartlett School of UCL. She has authored and is currently teaching a Module in Lighting since September 2020.
Marina Sermpezi

Marina has joined light in space after completing her degree in Product & Systems Design Engineering in Ermoupoli, Syros. Bringing the skills and enthusiasm to the team, Marina has 'dived' in the world of lighting with dedication and curiosity. She has contributed to bringing several small and medium sized projects to Detail Design stage with great attention to detail and a newly gained critical view.
Aphrodite Neri

Aphrodite is a qualified architect and has practiced both stage and architectural lighting passionately since 2022 . She has gathered experience in stage and architectural lighting design while working for a few firms in Greece and Copenhagen. In 2024 she has joined Light in Space as a lighting designer with great enthusiasm on the topic of lighting and desire for learning across different projects. She is a great communicator and has an artist's flair for all creative tasks.
